I play the Saxophone and the Oboe, and I have been participating to several orchestras and chamber ensemble. I am now more interested in chamber music than symphonic orchestral pieces, typically because during rehearsals in an orchestra, you have to wait way too long that strings get the thing right. Life’s too short!



Anyway, the good thing with orchestras is that you have plenty around, and you don’t need to organize your own… Funny how hard it is to find 5 to 8 people to play woodwind quintets or wind octets, compared with gathering a few tens of them to play in a big orchestra.
